Account settings
Yes — you can choose which business name pay.com.au displays for your account. By default, your entity's legal name is used.
Where your account name appears
Identifying your accounts in the platform
Since pay.com.au supports multiple accounts, your account name helps you tell them apart. If you have multiple accounts under the same ABN, or a long entity name (like a Trust), a shorter or more recognisable name can help.
Invoices
For every payment you make, you'll receive an invoice for any associated fees. Your account name is used to address these invoices.
Remittance advice
When a payment is remitted, we send remittance advice to your payee's email address on your behalf. Your selected account name appears on that advice.
How to change your account name
If you have multiple business names registered with your ABN, you can switch to one of these instead of your legal entity name.
- 1 Go to Settings > Details.
- 2 Select Edit under Business information.
- 3 Choose your preferred Business name from the dropdown and click Save.
