During identity verification, you'll be asked to take a photo of your ID document and a selfie. Getting these right the first time means faster verification — here's what to keep in mind.
Photographing your ID
- Place your ID flat on a steady, even surface
- Hold the camera directly above and parallel to the card — avoid tilted or angled shots
- Shoot in natural light where possible; avoid flash, glare, and shadows
- Make sure the photo is sharp and in focus
- Ensure all text — including text on transparent sections — is clearly readable
- Keep the background plain and uncluttered; nothing in the foreground either
Taking your selfie
- Find a well-lit room with even lighting — avoid strong backlight or overhead lights that cast shadows
- Look directly at the camera
- Keep your face centred in the frame
- Remove glasses, hats, or anything that covers your face
Verification not going through? If your photos keep failing, try a different device or a different location with better lighting. If you're still stuck, contact our support team — we can help you complete verification manually.
