Mobile App Payments

Who can use this?
👤 Account owners, administrators, and operators can create payments
🏁 Available on all subscriptions

A supplier needs paying. An invoice is due. And you're nowhere near a desk. The app has you covered — create and send payments from your phone, any time.

Payment types

The app supports three types of payments:

Pay Now
Immediate payment

Initiates a payment to an existing or new payee straight away. Supports all payment methods: Bank Account, PayTo, Card, and PayID.

Pay Later
Scheduled for a future date

Schedule a one-off payment for a future date. Supports Bank Account, PayTo, and Card. Not available for PayID.

Recurring
Repeating over time

Set up payments that repeat over a defined period or number of occurrences. Card only — not currently available for Bank Account, PayTo, or PayID.

Authorise Later is not available for PayID payments.

Adding a new payee

If the person you're paying isn't saved in your account, you can quick-add them directly in the payment flow — no need to exit to a separate screen.

  • 1 Start a new payment and search for your payee in the list.
  • 2 If they don't appear, tap Add New Payee in the top right corner.
  • 3 Enter their name and relevant payment details.
  • 4 The payee is saved to your account and ready for future use.
Managing existing payees Full payee management — editing details, deleting payees — is available on the web platform at app.pay.com.au.

Earning PayRewards Points

Points may be earned on eligible payments depending on your chosen earn rate. You select your points rate at the time of payment — here's how it works across methods:

To check which earn rate was applied to a specific payment, open the transaction from your history and view the payment summary.

Common issues

I can't find my payee in the app
Start a new payment and tap Add New Payee when your recipient doesn't appear in the list. You can quick-add them directly in the payment flow without leaving the screen.
I'm trying to schedule a PayID payment
Scheduled (Pay Later) and Recurring payments aren't supported for PayID. Use Bank Account, PayTo, or Card for scheduled payments — or use PayID for an immediate Pay Now payment only.
I want to set up a recurring payment from my bank account
Recurring payments via Bank Account or PayTo aren't available in the current app version. Set it up via the web platform, or use Card if you need to manage recurring payments from mobile.
Why didn't I earn points on my payment?
Points earning depends on the payment method and earn rate selected at the time of payment. Open the transaction in your history to see which PayRewards option was applied.
I need to pay an overseas supplier
FX payments aren't supported in the current version of the app. Log in to the web platform at app.pay.com.au to make international payments.
I'm the account owner but I see "Submit" instead of "Authorise Now"
This happens when a payment meets the conditions of a custom authorisation rule. Tap Submit — the payment will route to the appropriate approver in your workflow rather than being approved immediately.
